about

Chapter 2

Young Paul Atreides wanders the desert, close to death. Shortly before giving in to the harsh Rakian sun, he is rescued by the Fremen - a secretive tribe who live in the deep desert of Rakis, displaced by the Emperor, and the Harkonnens.

Raising him in the ways of desert survival, it becomes clear that Paul has many inexplicable talents - he can even see strange visions of the future in his dreams. Frightened, some of the more radical Fremen challenge him - but he overcomes each challenger, proving his worth to the Tribe.

As the years pass deep in the Rakian desert, Paul has become a talented Fremen leader and warrior, and successfully united these previously divided peoples. They begin to revere him as the savior of the world - the Haderach - the one who will reclaim Rakis for it's rightful inhabitants, the Fremen.

Unable to make sense of his visions, Paul drinks the dangerous 'Water of Life', the poisonous blood of the sacred Sandworms revered by his people as Gods. It is said that he who drinks of this liquid will reclaim Rakis for the Fremen.

Paul's body transmutes the strange poison, and he suddenly gains an incredible power to see across space and time. He now knows the Emperor is responsible for the Harkonnen treachery.
